Google Docs Sync

You can synchronize your lists of notes to Google Docs, export numerical categories as Spreadsheets or backup all your data.

To synchronize all your notes, navigate to the main screen and tap the Command button (top-right corner). To synchronize specific list of notes, navigate to that list and tap the Command button, as shown in the screenshots below.

To export a numerical category as spreadsheet, go to the main page, tap the Settings button (bottom right corner) and navigate to Desktop Data Transfer -> Export a Spreadsheet page.

To export a category as a CSV file, navigate to the Year view and tap the Command button (top right corner). You can also email all the entries for a given month or year by navigating to the month or year view and tapping the Command button.

Note: Two way synchronization with Google Docs is supported for Lists of Notes. Numerical categories can only be exported as spreadsheets.

What’s the difference between Sync and Backup?

The intention behind Google Docs Sync is to allow users to easily import, export & share notes and documents. For example, if you are a teacher, you may be taking notes about the progress of your students on your iPhone and have lesson plans that you create on the desktop and sync down to your iPhone.

Having said that, Google Docs Sync is not meant to be used as a Backup. If you accidentally delete a note on your iPhone, it will also get deleted from your Google Docs the next time you sync. For backup purposes, we have a dedicated Backup & Restore feature, which packs all your Daily Tracker data into one file and uploads it to Google Docs. This makes it really easy to restore your Daily Tracker to some point in the past if needed.
